The Journey Begins
shortly after I got the car home, I started to do things like stare at it for a while and so forth. I needed to find a motor. In an attempt to at least get it running, I had a SOHC motor in it that never was even attempted to be wired. That's ok because I wanted to build a DOHC motor (bigger better and more powerful) anyways.
So after a while, my buddy located a DOHC motor in the local junk yard. We pulled it out and took it to his house to do a tear down and rebuild.
Here is the list of modifications that have been done to the vehicle:
1. motor completely cleaned, bored 1mm over, honed, decked, built.
2. head planed, 3-angle valve job, port, polish, hydro lifters
3. 1.8 cams, 1.8 ported intake
4. Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 8 turbo
5. custom exhaust manifold and downpipe
6. big front mounted intercooler
7. polished and tig welded stainless steel charge pipes
8. GReddy type RS blow off valve
9. Haltech stand-alone computer
10. Honda civic racing radiator
11. Custom oil cooler
12. Wire tuck
13. Wideband o2 sensor
14. Autometer wideband, oil pressure, and boost gauges
15. Oil catch can
16. Coolant catch can
17. 3-bar map sensor
18. EBC greenstuff brake pads
19. slotted brake rotors
20. interior blacked out (paint plastics black, black suede headliner, etc)
21. custom carbon fiber spark plug cover plate
22. 460cc injectors
23. stage 5 clutch masters unsprung 4-puck clutch

How I got into this car.
Back in 2004 or so, I had purchased a major beater car. It was a 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum. It had major issues, and I knew the internet had people and forums dedicated to vehicles that might know a thing or two on how to fix my car's issues. Back in those days all I knew about mechanics was "righty tighty lefty loosey." Anyways, I came across www.isuzone.org and started reading some posts. I realized then that the forum had people with the same cars, but with the Isuzu badge. Later I learned it was the Isuzu Imark. Fast forward a couple of months then I start recognizing other cars, like the Geo Storm. Then I noticed a car that looked like a Geo Storm, but with a better (in my opinion) looking front fascia. I then find out the RS is 1/800 imported into the United States and Canada, so the car was rare. I had to get one. After a while I meet with another guy in my city and he just so happened to have an RS shell with no motor or anything, and he was going to scrap it. Uh, no. $800 later (give or take) the car was at my house.
Ok so here we go...
Alright, now I've had my car for 4 years or so now, and no, it's not running yet. My objective is to go over when I first learned about this rare car, and how I was so lucky to obtain it. I may also try to post some pictures of progress, and will definitely enter new posts as things progress. Please stay tuned! (pun intended)
